You have two options - staying on-site in a Disney Resort/Disney Good Neighbor Hotel or staying off-site. Off-site will be much cheaper, but staying in a Disney Resort has many benefits which you may decide outweigh the extra cost. Disney World is SO Big that even when you are staying at Disney Resort hotels, you will have to drive to get to the parks (you are better off taking hotel shuttles to avoid parking hassles).

For deals on your hotel:
- Determine the hotel price range you are looking for by using the official Disney World Site or if you want a certain location check out this map page. If you know which hotel you'd like to stay at (from checking prices at Expedia, Orbitz
& Travelocity ) to get the best price, call the hotel directly at their local number (not their 800 number which will send you to a call center). Ask to speak with the manager or director of sales. You may be able to beat the best advertised price by 20% particularly if you call a few days before your visit (assuming the hotel is not sold out).
- Tell the manager you are willing to take an "out of order" room that only has a minor problem.
- You can get up to 50% off your room rack rate using the Entertainment Book for Orlando, which is full of money saving coupons for all sorts of things.
- Some hotel chains are offering best rate guarantees when you reserve your room on their website. If you find a better rate within 24 hours the chain may offer you additional 10% off. Rules vary.
- Clarion, Comfort Inn, Courtyard, Crowne Plaza, Days Inn, Doubletree, Econo Lodge, Fairfield Inn, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Hyatt, Marriott, Ramada, Sheraton, Super 8, Westin and Wyndam are currently offering this benefit.
- To check on travellers reports for hotels, search at TripAdvisor. This can improve your stay by avoiding construction, noise, etc..
